The main ingredient and equipment that you need to make delicious cupcakes are:
Ingredients:
To make these delicious thanksgiving cupcakes, you need a small box of fondant and cupcakes. Additionally, you need 4 to 5 cups of decorator’s buttercream, and green, yellow, copper, and ivory coloring. You can use marshmallow bits, sanding sugar, and walnuts for decoration.
Equipment:
You also need a few equipment or tools like a rolling pin, square cutter, ice cream scoop, piping bag, and small bone cookie butter.
If you don’t have any of these tools, you don’t need to worry. Just look around in the kitchen and I am sure you will find some object that would get the job done.
Direction:
Step 1: Coloring Buttercream:
Take four bowls and divide buttercream among the bowls. You don’t need to divide buttercream equally because you will need different colors in different quantities. Then dye buttercream with gel coloring. You need to dye buttercream with light yellow, yam color, tannish color, and keep the one bowl white.
Step 2: Coloring Fondant:
Now it’s time to color fondant. Again, we need gel coloring to color the fondant. Only a few oz. of each color will be enough to make a dozen cupcakes. You need fondant in light yellow, white, and dark green color. After coloring the fondant, cut it into squares and keep it in Ziplock bags, so it doesn’t dry out.
Step 3: Green Bean Casserole Cupcakes:
To make green bean casserole, you need a piping bag. On the cupcake, pipe a flat swirl of icing using a large round tip. Then use a Viva towel to smooth it out. After that, roll the fondant colored with dark green into coils. Then cut the coil into small lengths and with the help of a knife, add a line. Push these green bean into the buttercream and add sanding sugar and your cupcakes are ready.
Step 4: Making Corn Cob Cupcakes:
To make corn cob, you need yellow fondant. Roll the yellow fondant and make about ¼ inch wide and 4 inches long coils. Then with the help of knife, press lines on the coil in a way that makes rows of corn. Then place buttercream on the cupcake that will help in assembling. Smooth the buttercream and then place strips of corn on it. In the last, top the corn strips with fondant, butter squares and sanding sugar.
